The name David is one of the nomina sacra and appeared in some ancient
manuscripts as a contraction DAD and in others as DAUEID, DAUID, DABID, and
so on. The spelling DABID is found in the TR. Jay P. Green, Sr. follows the
TR in his interlinear.
The whole confusion of B/U probably has to do with the soft and hard
pronunciations of the Hebrew letter Beth.
