Not an isolated occurrence of this problem. This is what I call the
Zondervan school of NT Greek. It is the antithesis of semantic minimalism.
It tends to find all kinds of meaning and nuances in places where they do
not belong. A sort of mystical exercise where one grabs onto a case ending
or a preposition or a verb aspect marker to see how much spin factor can be
applied to the text based on this isolated low level language feature. It is
IMHO bad theory which leads to bad exegesis. Also a very prevalent
phenomenon.
