I'd call it a solecism: it seems it could be several different things, from
an unaugmented 3d sg. aor. (but why a 3d sg. form here?) to an aorist
middle imptv with -SAI spelled -SE (but has -U- also been simplified from
-OU-?). I think most likely it's a phonetically mis-spelled APOLOUSAI.
(After all, there's nothing much to do but speculate with a form like this,
is there?)
