though I'd add a brief corrective note:

clay quoted someone (Rolf?)
>and the imperfect of (7) and the
> aorist of (8) as foreground information.

Pragmatic/discourse theory would normally assign
the aorist to a foreground
and the imperfect to background.
I am fully in agreement with such theory.
The "stylistic" imperfect examples I gave a few days ago and such
backgroundings.
anyway, it is not healthy for students to have imperfect Greek verbs
referred to as 'foreground'.
