The decision as to where one places paragraph breaks is somewhat subjective.
You may find it helpful to take a look at some other editions of the Greek NT. This
particular section is one of the places where UBS and Nestle disagree (though Nestle
27 does place an inter-paragraph break at this point). My copy of the TR does not
have any break between 2:13 & 14, but Hodges and Farstad's text does.
I would agree with you, that the AUTOS GAR introduces either a foundation of the
preceeding clauses, or possibly a further implication of a foundation common to
2:11-13 & 2:14ff. However, to make no break at all, here, creates a very long
paragraph. The fact that there is some major mark of logical progression at v 14
(IMO) warrants some kind of break. The strong connection implied by this GAR
warrants keeping the passage integral. All in all, I like what NA27 has done, by
placing a large space within the paragraph. OK, so it's not good English style--and
it's not KOINE style--but it does get the job done :)
