I can not speak as to Korean (your native language??), but your
question is remarkably Western, I think.

That is, I do not think hUOQESIAN means ONLY "adoption" in the
English sense of the word. I seem to recall this question many
months ago on b-greek, with no one able to produce a reference to hUOQESIA
as the "placing of a natural son to the position
of adult status" (or something like that). And yet, it seemed to
be the concensus that such a usage was part of hUOQESIA (perhaps
representing some Latin counterpart).

Anyway, I too hope someone will speak to this word hUOQESIA and its
use of "giving to a natural born child an adult status within the family."
