1 Timothy 1.14

hUPEREPLEONASEN DE hH CARIS TOU KURIOU hHMWN
META PISTEWS KAI AGAPHS THS EN CRISTWi IHSOU

I cannot really understand the use of META here. The
first part of this verse seems clear that the grace of
the Lord was abundant (overly-abundant). But what are
the interpretive options for META?

Is not hUPEREPLEONASEN 3 person singular, restricting
it to CARIS? If it had been hUPEREPLEONASAN, I could
see how PISTEWS KAI AGAPHS would be included in that
which was abundant, but because of the singular, it
seems like PISTEWS KAI AGAPHS are not directly
included in hUPEREPLEONASEN.

How would one understand PISTEWS to be abundant?

Also, why is THS (singular) used and not TWN (for both
PISTEWS KAI AGAPHS)?

=====
Sincerely,

Alan B. Thomas
