According to Porter, Greek Adverbs on rare occasion
modify Substantives.
However, the only example he gives has this
English translation:
"in the now time"
This hardly seems like an Adverb (now) modifying
the Substantive (time), especially with the
accompanying definite article.
It seems more like the Adverb "plus the article" would
make the Adverb "part of" the Substantive, thereby
removing its Adverbial characteristic, and not modifing
a noun in any way. How can an Adverb modify a Noun?
Does anyone else teach that a Greek Adverb and "modify"
a Substantive?
