One aspect of a Lexicon (physical book, not digital) which is easy to over
look is "performance." This morning I looked up the idiom (Semitic?)
BLEPEIS EIS PROSWPWN (Mk 12:14) in three different lexicons (physical books)
Louw & Nida, BADG 2nd and Danker 3rd. L&N performed quite well, the index
pointed me directly to the idiom. BADG 2nd performed poorly. I read the
entire article on BLEPW three times and still did not see the cryptic
reference to the idiom (page 143(5)). Danker 3rd performed much better than
BADG 2nd. I was quickly able to spot the idiom on page 179(4) and having
found it I went back to BADG 2nd and with some more work was able to locate
the same information there. BAGD 2nd came in a very poor third in this
contest.

If I had been only working with BADG 2nd I might have never located what I
was looking for since the large blocks of cryptically coded text are mind
numbing and your attention is wandering by the time you get half way through
a long article. The reference was there all the time but I read right over
it three times without seeing it.

Danker 3rd also had some major improvements in wording on this idiom. Not
only was the information easier to find but the information was easier to
understand and more specific.

I suspect that for significant words like BLEPW, F. Danker put in a lot of
work to improve this edition. The improvement was quite evident through out
the entire article on BLEPW.

If any of you are still waffling about getting this book my suggestion is
that you cancel your next golf game and send the money to Barnes & Noble.
