Thanks a lot for your comments!
I knew the Hebrew text used olam (which of itself doesn't necessitate
eternity), but I had actually not noticed that there are some cases of a
double olam, such as you've shown for Psalms 90 (Me`oWLaM 'aD-`oWLaM).
Thanks.
Your opinion that this became a set-phrase doxology is fresh input for
me, and helpful.
