I think that the idea is simply to cloth oneself or be clothed. The Bible
uses this metaphor a great deal: to be clothed in righteousness, being
clothed in shame, wearing garments of gladness, being spiritually naked.

I think that NOUS is specifically the mind, while PNEUMA is the immaterial
being, the spirit, more generally.
