Umm ... thanks for allowing me a voice, Mike,. But what I said that the Lukan text
might have been intended to convey was: Truly I tell you, now that the great "Today"
is upon us, you will be with me ....
And you might want to know that this reading is not original with me. It is something
that E. E. Ellis, following St. Ambrose, has put forward in his "Present and Future
Eschatology in Luke", NTS 12 [1965-66] 27-41.
