Mark;

I've always understood a transitive verb to be one where the action affects or passes
over to a person or thing other than the subject. The person or thing to which the
action of the verb passes over is the direct object. An intransitive verb indicates
action that does not affect anyone or anything besides the subject.

The only examples of SUNERGEW I could find with a quick search was in Jas 2:22 and 1
Mac. 12:1. Both of these references there is no direct object and a dative is used
with the person or thing being assisted. Therefore, SUNERGEW can be used
intransitively.

Rom 8:28 is interesting because PANTA could be either;

1) Neuter plural subject, 'All things work together for the good...'.

2) Neuter accusative plural indicating either the direct object, ' (He) works all
things together...' or as an adverbial accusative, 'In all things, (he) works
together...'. In this second option, the accusative noun functions as an adverb
modifying or limiting the action of the verb, but not receiving the action.

Hope this helps.
