If you mean modern Greek, then chi is a harsh "H" sound -- not just a simple spirantised
sound, but an almost guttural H.

| ... and what about rho?

It's rolled, just like the Italians where they say "Rrrrrroma".

| ... and upsilon?

It's pronounced as an "i" (like in "sit").

Modern Greek pronunciation is quite different from the pronunciation you get at tertiary
institutions (the 'classical' pronunciation). It's so easy for me as a modern Greek
speaker to "lapse" into modern pronunciation when I teach. Although it happens without me
realising it, I can usually tell when I've done it because of the odd looks on my
students' faces. Modern Greek sounds quite a lot like Spanish when you hear it spoken at
conversational speed.
