Well you could have been looking at a lot of things.
One extra point from distant memory:
Verse 2 actually begins the sentence, then breaks with a sort of
dash, and continues with a new direction as a loose grounds/content for why

they should be blessed with knowledge.

In other words, the punctuation/sentence structure 1.2-5 is anomolous.
People
talk and write like that sometimes.
