[b-greek] Semantic situations of hEWS, ACRI, & MECRI

I was wondering is anyone had done work on the temporal adverbs/prepositions
of hEWS, ACRI, & MECRI. Specifically what is the semantic situation when
these words indicate that an action or event continues up until a specific
time and then the action or event ceases or changes vs. an action or event
continues up until a specific time and continues through it. The contrast can
be seen in the following selected passages.

Matt 2:13 EGERQEIS PARALABE TO PAIDION KAI THN MHTERA AUTOU KAI FEUGE EIS
AIGUPTON KAI ISQI EKEI EWS AN EIPW SOI MELLEI GAR hHRWiDHS ZHTEIN TO PAIDION
TOU APOLESAI AUTO. “Arise and take the Child and His mother, and flee to
Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for
the Child to destroy Him.”

Matt 2:15 KAI HN EJKEI EWS THS TELEUTHS hHRWiVDOU and was there until the
death of Herod,

These two passages suggest that Joseph and Mary would leave Egypt after Herod
died, as the context confirms. However,

Deut 1:31 KAI EN THi ERHMWi TAUTHi HN EIDETE hWS ETROFOFORHSEN SE KURIOS hO
QEOS SOU hWS EI TIS TROFOFORHSEI ANQRWPOS TON hUION AUTOU KATA PASAN THN
hODON HN EPOREUQHTE hEWS HLQETE EIS TON TOPON TOUTON and in the wilderness
where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his
son, in all the way which you have walked, until you came to this place.

This passage does not suggest that God stopped carrying Israel until they
reached Canaan, but affirms that God has crried them up until the present,
and implies that he will continue to be with them.

The same might be said of Rom 5:13: ACRI GAR NOMOU hAMARTIA HN EN KOSMWi,
hAMARTIA DE OUK ELLOGEITAI MH ONTOS NOMOU for until the Law sin was in the
world; but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Sin does not cease being in the world when the Law came, but continues on.

Does the difference have to do with the types of verbs involved with the
temporal adverbs, e.g., stative vs. verbs of motion or is something more
going on? This would have much significance on such passages as Matt 1:25;
Rev 20:3, 5 as well as several other passages.
