To build on what Harry and Carl have said, the difference is a little like that between
the English words "home" (OIKIA) and "household" (OIKOS). It's a bit simplistic,
especially considering the difference in the composition and ethos of the family between
the ancient world and our modern western world, but I think it gets the point across.
