I wonder why this "catalog description" makes me so skeptical? It looks so
much like a book that teaches one only enough to be dangerous!
---------------
Catalog Description:
This course in NT Greek, called in more popular terms Baby Greek, is
designed to teach Greek on a simplified level. The goal is not to be able
to teach those who use the book how to translate various passages in the
New Testament but how to use biblical tools such a commentaries and
reference tools that depend on a knowledge of Greek. For example, the book
does not teach students how to parse verbs and so be able to differentiate
between a perfect tense and an aorist tense, but it teaches them the
different nuances between a perfect and an aorist tense. Students learn the
Greek alphabet and learn how to read Greek words; they learn the different
uses of the five cases of nouns and of the six tenses, six moods, and three
voices of the verbs. A CD-ROM is an integral part of the project. It
presents the authorís seminary class in Baby Greek in audio and combines it
with text and overheads.
