G'day Harry
I bought a great book on the subject last year. This was in the days when
you could buy a book from America online, be charged reasonable shipping
costs, and save on the cost of buying it in Australia.

Currently, the shipping is often greater than the price of the book!

The book is
Invitation to the Septuagint by Karen H. Jobes and Moises Silva. It is
published by Baker.

It is well worth getting a copy.

But, bunging "Septuagint" into www.google.com does bring up some rich
resources:

Here are some of the best I found:
http://arts-sciences.cua.edu/ecs/jdk/LXX/
Theological and Academic Resources for the Study of the Septuagint.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/13722a.htm
The Catholic Encyclopedia has a helpful article, as usual.

Great, simple Aussie [tautology?] article here, but not all links work.
