Well, the modern meaning of "Laodicean" is quite perjorative, thanks to the
Book of Revelation:

adj 1 lukewarm and indifferent, esp. in religious matters. w n 2 a person
having a lukewarm attitude towards religious matters. [C17: referring to
the early Christians of Laodicea (Revelation 3:14–16)]
