I don't think you can solve your question based on a statistical analysis of
the use of participles following the finite verb. This is a question of
methodology. How are we going to read Greek. If someone forced me to take a
position on this question I would say "the participles COULD be taken as
contemporaneous with the main verb" and leave it at that. I don't see any
way that the question can be resolved by talking about statistical patterns
related to temporal sequence (contra Iver). This approach has it's defenders
and I am willing to let them defend it, but it eventually comes down to
arguments about epistemology which is off topic for b-greek.
In other words, I would suggest you back up and take a look at your
question. Ask yourself is there something wrong with the way I am posing
this question?
