I have a question on the pronunciation of PNEUMA. Is the Pi pronounced or
silent? I am not really interested in how it would have been pronounced
originally, I just want to be sure others who know Koine Greek will
understand what I am saying. Mounce teaches pronounceing each consonant,
but someone told me recently that PNEUMA should be pronounced 'NEW-mah',
much like in english we would pronounce 'pneumatic.' So if I want to be
understood by a group of Greek scholars, like those inhabiting this list,
how should I say PNEUMA, 'NEW-mah' or 'p-NEW-mah'?
