Hi,
I heard of BibleWorks a lot. But let me
explain what kind of search I want more clearly.
Surely you have heard of parts of speech.
I want to use those parts as patterns for search.
NP = noun phrase,
NP = noun, or article + noun,
article + noun + prepositional phrase, etc.
VP = verb phrase,
S = sentence
Prep = preposition
Adv = Adverbial
Ad = adverb
Conj = conjunction
Part = participial clause
art = article
nom = nominative case,
gen = genitive case,
dat = dative case,
acc = accusative case,
etc.
I would like to form queries like:
(1) Find sentences S such that
S = NP [nom] APOKRINOMAI [aor,3rd pers] NP [dat].
(2) S = APOKRINOMAI [aor, 3rd pers] Part [nom]
The point is that I want to simply say "noun phrase"
than "any NOUN any". For one thing, the second way is
ambiguous, and it is not easy to specify such any's in
the right places.
Does BibleWorks support that kind of search interface?
