ABSTRACT

Muze, Inc., a major supplier of database information for the music, book, and video industries, is developing XML-based interchange formats for its next-generation database. Muze has decided to build its interchange formats on top of RDF, and is in the process of developing a freeware Java-based RDF library that will simplify the work of reading and writing any RDF-based XML data formats and of integrating XML into database and forms systems.

This presentation will include a demonstration of the pre-release version of the library, together with a detailed discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of RDF for representing entities (objects) and their relationships from a software developer's point of view.
