The Internet in itself is an outgrowth of a smaller world community. Now, France is at your doorstep as opposed to being an ocean away. And Quebec is your neighbour. As a result, gathering information and sharing it with your students is easier than ever.
Here are some resources on the Internet that use French as a main mode of communicating. It's possible to set your students up with French-speaking penpals of their own age, send an email note to the French Minister of Culture, and more. Read on for valuable tips.

Qu'est-ce qu'un "moo"? En français, un "moo" s'appelle un CAFÉ
MOO FRANÇAIS! - Un lieu électronique pour converser d'autres internautes des États-Unis, du Canada, de la France, etc., totalement en français. Pour connecter, cliquez sur les mots en surligne haut ou connectez avec telnet:

(pour de l'assistance, tapez "@help" ou "commandes").
-- Ou bien, en anglais, les "newsgroups". C'est un babillard électronique traitant de sujets specialisés. Il existe plusieurs méthodes pour y accéder - avec une plateforme UNIX, il y a TIN, TRN, NN, ou RN. Avec MacIntosh, il y a Nuntius Newsreader ou Newswatcher. Avec des compatibles IBM, il y a WINVN, Netscape, et quelques autres.
Demandez à votre administrateur de réseau quelle sorte de software pouvez-vous utiliser.
Quand vous êtes dans votre propre software, vous pouvez entrer dans les newsgroups qui vous interesse. Voici plusieurs exemples:
Sur le WWW, ou le World Wide Web, on peut trouver énormément d'information. Pour les regarder, il faut utiliser "Netscape", "LYNX", "Mosaic", ou un des autres logiciels de visualisation.
Au début, on doit ouvrir un "URL" ("universal resource locator"). C'est simple! Tapez un des URLs suivants (exactement comme ils sont écrits), ou suivez-les si vous voyez cela maintenant sur le WWW:
