metadata:
roots:
- born in: maria parham hospital, henderson, nc.
- taken straight to the campus of oxford orphanage (no, not in it, my dad worked there for nearly 40 years)
- favorite childrens books growing up: when i'm six, i'll fix anthony by judith viorst and crabapple night by steven kellogg. each centers on themes of revenge... hmmm.
- grew up in this 1912 house. word is its haunted by one of the ladies in the picture, but i've only heard weird noises and footsteps, seen chairs rock by themselves, books flying out of bookcases, that type of thing. the cold spots in the hallway went away before i was born, and whatever it was that scared one of my relatives in what would become my bedroom has never come back. i also slept on the couch all the time without waking up to see a glowing elderly woman standing beside me. sometimes i felt left out.
- attended: j.f. webb high school.
- first job: music leader at the york rite memorial chapel, 1994 to present.
- undergraduate major: journalism and mass communications, unc-chapel hill
- graduate major: school of information and library science, unc-chapel hill

- sports:
- favorite color: blue. i'm redblind.
- favorite smell: coconut.
- favorite books:
- my collection of shirley jackson's works. the woman truly has never written a bad sentence.
- stealing jesus by bruce bawer. warns of the dangers of legalistic and fundamentalist christianity, and their betrayal of the true teachings and message of christ. bawer throws out many of the rules smacked down in the old testament and returns the notion of christianity from the perversely interpreted "traditions" drummed up by our modern churches to the deep-rooted message of jesus: live simply, and love one another. a heretical, revolutionary message regarding a religion which, at heart, is exactly that.
- the hiram key and second messiah - christopher knight and robert lomas. a romantic and fascinating if not totally plausible conspiracy theory involving freemasonry, the templars, ancient egypt, and the original jerusalem church. yum.
- the templar revelation by picknett and prince -- more religious conspiracy theory
- the gospel of thomas -- one of the many texts that didn't make it into the bible.
- the bad popes by e.r. chamberlin -- the title says it all.
- my lynda barry collection. the ones who know by flowers, flowers in the middle of november. the ones who know to take me away from here, and are looking for me. the baba man, the rocka shaggy baba man and his saba baba shadow.

- roller coaster: alpengeist, busch gardens williamsburg
- best theme park: busch gardens, williamsburg. comfy and aesthetically pleasing with great roller coasters.
