New Year’s Day came and went, for many of us, without our making any resolutions. If you haven’t yet made your resolutions, perhaps you’ll be inspired to resolve to change some of these disturbing statistics. . .

51.2% of all artists in the United States are women; 5% of works in museums are by women.

5 % of money spent for breast cancer research is spent on breast cancer, the most common form of cancer in American women. (And therefore the most common form of cancer for over 50% of the U.S. population is practically overlooked!).

Prison terms for killing husbands are twice as long as those for killing wives.

95% of enrollees in weight-loss programs are women, although the sexes are overweight in equal proportions.

Women news anchors are 20 years younger than male news anchors and get paid 23 percent less.

The average salary of an African-American female college graduate in a full-time position is less than that of a white male high-school drop-out.

37% of all American women will have a hysterectomy by the time they are 60 years old.

These statistics were compiled and published by a watchdog group, Women’s Action Coalition, a.k.a. "WAC".
