"Some friends in San Francisco were moving to New Jersey and needed someone to share the driving so I got the chance to cross the United States. We slept overnight in sleeping bags on National Parks picnic tables. Misty and moist as we left our beds under the trees to go East some more. We stopped for some breakfast along the way and this guy said 'Hi!' from the shed next to the gas station."
