     Information Technology Agreement secures final go-ahead

Thirty-nine countries Wednesday agreed to a landmark pact that frees up trade
in information technology items worth about $600 billion annually, World
Trade Organization chief Renato Ruggiero said.

The Information Technology Agreement (ITA), thrashed out by trade ministers
in Singapore last December, is now able to
take effect July 1.
