Asking price is $625. The receiver was manufactured by Collins Radio, Order # 14214-PH-51-93, Serial #640. The receiver is operational (as type this post I am listening to WCCO, 830 AM out of Minneapolis), has no modifications, and has the top and bottom covers intact. I am sure it could benefit from a good going over by somebody who knows what they are doing. Digital photos emailed upon request. I will not pack and ship as it is too heavy so pick up only from Zip code 54751. I'm helping a friend-of-a-friend find a good home for this cool receiver. I have no stakes in it myself, other than to help the owner link up with a boat anchor collector who will give this fine receiver some T.L.C., operate it, enjoy it, and keep it in his collection. The seller received it from the original purchaser, an engineer, now sk. He does not want to see this unit resold on the auction sites for a profit. If you can respect these wishes, please read on. This is an art deco style Hallicrafters SX-25 with matching speaker (might be the PM-23?). The case of the receiver and speaker have no metal dents, etc. They have virtually no damage to the paint but show the normal dirt, etc., of a fifty year old radio. There are some rather minor cabinet flaws which are evident in the photos. Inside and outside the radio would benefit from a going over with 409 cleaner. The main tuning dial cord is broken but present. Has all original knobs. The output transformer has been replaced with a Stancor A3880, which we believe is the correct replacement impedance and power value. The receiver has hum, but receives strong stations in the BC band and also 80 meter ham band. The speaker has a 5000 ohm to 8 Ohm transformer and its voice coil is good. The plastic in the dials has discolored over time but would be replaceable. The receiver has had the line cord replaced with a 3 wire grounded cord. Other than the above, we don't know anything else about it, but it appears to be in nice shape. The receiver is not in my possession, so I am the middle-man for the descriptions & photos. If you are interested, please email me off-list and I will send you photos and what other info I have. The seller STRONGLY desires that this unit be picked up (Kansas City area), however professional packing + shipping + insurance are options. If you've done this before you can probably estimate the costs. The weight, unpacked, is about 46 pounds for the receiver, and about 20 pounds for the speaker. If you wish to purchase the unit I will put you in touch with the seller, and you can work out your own arrangements. Payment by USPS money order (sorry, no PayPal or other electronic means). FS: MOTOROLA HIGH-POWER (1500VDC) MICOR POWER SUPPLY, clean, working, good condition, $50 O.B.O. I'm helping a friend-of-a-friend find a good home for this monster power supply. I have no stakes in it myself, other than to help the owner link up with someone who needs a quality, functioning, high-voltage power supply. Just the transformer, choke, and capacitors are worth the purchase price! This is clean Motorola TLN5699A power supply, part of the 375W (OUTPUT!) VHF base station/repeater. The output voltage is +1500 VDC at 400 mA (500 ma could be drawn ICS), +300 v, -50 v and the weight is about 90 pounds. A 7-page copy of the schematics and manual data will be provided with the power supply. This unit was recently removed from service, in operating condition. There are no modifications to this unit and it will be bench checked before shipping. The power supply is not in my possession, so I am the middle-man for the the descriptions & photos. If you are interested, please email me off-list and I will send you photos and what other info I have. The seller STRONGLY desires that this unit be picked up (Kansas City area), however professional packing + shipping + insurance are options. The power supply is HEAVY!!! We estimate $40 to build a crate, plus add freight charges and insurance. If you wish to purchase the unit I will put you in touch with the ths seller, and you can work out your own arrangements. Payment by USPS money order (sorry, no PayPal or other electronic means). Everything described here is as accurate info as we can provide, ditto the photos, however unit is offered as-is. Please let us know if you have any interest! Thanks and 73, Dan K0DAN k0dan@arrl.net ------------------------------ End of BOATANCHORS Digest 4287 ******************************
