At 1742gmt the Transmitter Department has just advised that KSM 6Mc has been switched to a 1950s vintage RCA transmitter and 12Mc to a 1940s vintage Press Wireless transmitter. At 1715gmt we worked SS AMERICAN VICTORY/KKUI on 12Mc. He called on 12552kc and went up to 12565kc for his working frequency. Good signals. He asked about NTTH which has not yet been heard. I had forgotten that the scope cart had a built-in power strip with an input connector that looks like a standard male NEMA-15P plug but recessed. I'd like to use this power strip. I couldn't find an extension cord with a small enough female end to fit into the recess. I also noted that a Cooper-brand replacement female end was about an 1/8" diameter too large to fit into the recess. Any idea what I should be looking for? Does someone other than Cooper make a small-enough, round female cord end that will fit? thanks much and 73, ben, kd5byb -- Ben Hall, kd5byb@kd5byb.net - ALWAYS OUTNUMBERED, NEVER OUTGUNNED. ------------------------------ Message-ID: <4B12F6B9.8090308@pacbell.net> Date: Sun, 29 Nov 2009 16:33:29 -0600 From: Dan Arney MIME-Version: 1.0 To: Old Tube Radios CC: Old Tube Radios Subject: Re: Tektronix Power Cord Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Ben, my TEK 503 had a recessed three pin male socket tried several different things and decided to open it up and replace it. I solved that problem with my Tek 545B by purchasing a three wire extension cord with a single molded outlet end. With a bit of deft X-acto knife artwork I eliminated the excess plastic to fit the receptacle into the recessed male connector. Chopping the cord down to a reasonable length and installing a robust plug on the other end netted me an extra power cord :-) Arden Allen KB6NAX Adopt a shelter dog, save an innocent life, and make a friend forever =:-) ------------------------------ End of BOATANCHORS Digest 4300 ******************************
