Well it turns out I had the manual after all and an original one at that. I bought this radio 11 years ago and completely forgot about the manual. The manual I have says serial numbers 1 to 40. My radio is serial number 187. Hopefully the differences are minor if any. My radio was made by Westinghouse according to the tag and has an October 1937 manufacture date. It will take a while to scan the manual but if anyone needs the schematic, you can download it here: http://members.cox.net/radiodx5/rce_schematic035.jpg Several people asked for photos. On Saturday at the Bolinas transmitter site Transmitter Supervisor Steve Hawes tested and tuned the transmitters while Bill Ruck and volunteer Vern Wirka braved the poison oak to clear the transmission lines of branches. Vern has come all the way from Nebraska to spend Night of Nights with us and help wherever he can. Today Paul Shinn will arrive at Bolinas to reinforce the staff there. Paul has recently completed the repair of a RCA AR-88LF receiver which we may put in service at an operating position at the receive site for Night of Nights. Meanwhile at the receive site I've been busy programming receivers, testing keying and laying out log sheets at the operating positions. We hope that the land line teletype link between the transmit and receive sites my be commissioned in time for Night of Nights, allowing us to have a proper and historically correct order wire. We hope you can join us on the air or in person on 12 July (13 July GMT) for Night of Nights XI. For full details please see our Web site at http://www.radiomarine.org . And not a moment too soon. The voice circuit on 2m, aside from being embarrassingly incorrect historically, was fading into the noise today. Now we will have a proper order wire just as was used when KPH was in its glory days. The system consists on a Model 15 in the control room at the transmitter site and a military TT-4A/TG at Position 1 in the operating room at the receive site. This will be replaced by a more appropriate Model 28KSR as soon as the typing unit is overhauled. For those on the Greenkeys list who may not have seen the earlier information about Night of Nights IX, when we will activate KPH, KFS and KSM and stations WLO, KLB, NMC and NMN will join us on the air please see our Web site at http://www.radiomarine.org .
