I think it is the only introductory Herbal software currently available, and at present is on IBM format only. Like many CD's it is primarily using that medium as a "fun" learning device, not as eg a high capacity information storage medium. David is a highly experienced herbalist, both practitioner, author and educator, trained in England and a long standing member of the UK's NIMH who is currently living and teaching in Ca. The information is excellent. (yes I am a teeny bit biased can you tell?) However, it is also available in conventional copy formats (ie books),and you might want to consider purchase of the David 's books for example The New Holistic Herbal as a handier and cheaper,if less contemporary, way of accessing the information you require. (certainly easier for field trips) There is other software available, but it is generally more advanced, designed for practitioners, and a lot more expensive. I guess this might not be what you are looking for, but:...IBIS probably stands alone at present as a comprehensive holistic software package covering western and chinese herbs, homeopathy, nutrition, physical medicine as well as vibrational and psychospritual approaches. You can get demos on line from them - USA contact is I also have a copy of Global Herb, which I could give further information on if you're interested. If anyone else out there has other info on herbal software database packages I too would be very interested in hearing about them-I am evaluating them for an article I'm writing at the moment. best wishes JonathanTreasure (temporarily jtreasure@aol.com- otherwise jtreasure@jonno.demon.co.uk)
