ROBIN LAING - PRODUCER ROBIN LAING and GAYLENE PRESTON’S working partnership started with Mr Wrong in 1984, and they’ve since combined to produce Ruby & Rata and Bread and Roses. ROBIN LAING has produced an additional four features, three short films (selected for Cannes, Sundance and Venice), four television dramas and seven television documentaries - including Flip and Two Twisters selected for the Paris Biennale and Victory Over Death, a Gold Award winner at Chicago. She executive-produced PRESTON’S War Stories and more recently executive-produced Hamish Rothwell’s Stickmen. ROBIN LAING is currently Chair of the Trust Board for the NZ Film and Television School, a trustee for the New Zealand Film Festivals Trust, and is founding president of Women in Film and Television (Wellington). She has represented the Screen Producers and Directors Association on both the Copyright Council and Screenrights boards, and has served two terms on the board of the New Zealand Film Commission. In 1993 LAING was awarded a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the New Zealand film industry. JAY CASSELLS – ASSOCIATE PRODUCER JAY CASSELLS recently returned to Queenstown, New Zealand after 20 years based in Australia as an entertainment and intellectual property lawyer. He has been involved in a number of New Zealand and Australian film and television projects including Roger Donaldson’s Sleeping Dogs, Sam Pillsbury's The Scarecrow, the 20th Century Fox's animated feature Fern Gully, and John Clarke's satirical series The Games. In 1999 with John Clarke and SAM NEILL he formed Huntaway Films as a vehicle to develop and produce film and television projects in New Zealand and Australia. Huntaway Productions was established in 2002 to associate produce Perfect Strangers. ALUN BOLLINGER – DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY ALUN BOLLINGER is one of New Zealand's leading cinematographers with credits including Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures, Vincent Ward's Vigil and Geoff Murphy's Goodbye Pork Pie. He was camera operator for Jane Campion's The Piano and most recently was scenic cinematographer for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings. ALUN BOLLINGER has previously collaborated with GAYLENE PRESTON on three feature films - Mr Wrong, Bread and Roses and War Stories. JOHN GILBERT – EDITOR ace JOHN GILBERT was nominated in 2002 for both an Academy and a BAFTA award for Best Editor for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring. He has edited a range of feature films including Alison Maclean’s Crush, Anna Campion’s Loaded, Anthony McCarten’s Via Satellite, and was associate editor for Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners. He has also edited many documentaries, short films and television dramas. JOHN GILBERT has twice won a New Zealand Film Award for Best Editor. JOE BLEAKLEY - PRODUCTION DESIGNER JOE BLEAKLEY’S work as a production designer includes the feature films Wild Horses, Leave All Fair, and the New Zealand sequences for the Swedish feature Christmas Oratorio with Perfect Strangers’ producer, ROBIN LAING. He was off set Art Director for The Lord of the Rings trilogy. JOE is also a well known theatre designer and has staged many large live events, most notably he was concept designer for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
