This 3-day program at the renowned Poynter Institute for journalism is geared to those new to news research or those wishing to learn more about the techniques of 21st century news librarianship. The program is a tremendous opportunity to learn news research skills from the pros in SLA’s News Division, and identify the skills needed to succeed in the changing world of multi-channel journalism research. Classes will cover several aspects of news research and career-building including:

The program will provide a number of opportunties for hands-on, experiential learning. Students can come to the program with specific projects in mind for these sessions:
