This course will include examples of stories in which CAR techniques have
been successfully incorporated and review ways to include statistical analysis
in newsstories. Demonstrations of Excel, Access, and FoxPro programs as CAR
tools will follow, and a Census Bureau representative will discuss the analysis
of population data.

Gardens
A visit to Winterthur, the Henry du Pont Estate and Gardens, in the beautiful Brandywine Valley, will include a docent-led tour of the museum’s collection of decorative arts spanning 200 years. Following time to explore the grounds we will depart for a visit to Longwood Gardens and explore some of the 20 indoor gardens and 1000 acres of grounds, a true delight for your senses. Two groups will alternate schedules: one visiting Winterthur in the morning and Longwood in the afternoon, the other group will do the reverse. A casual luncheon for both groups will be included at Winterthur.
