  Storage Technology Corporation of Louisville, CO is a manufacturer of
  online, nearline, random access and mid range data storage devices,
  including tape libraries, raid and solid state devices.  It has a
  users group known as Forum, that periodically meets to discuss many
  issues concerning its products, to include problems, novel solutions,
  etc.  Forum has approximatel 12,000 members, many of whom have internet
  access.  The goals of Forum are:
  
        * increase MIS center productivity
        * exchange ideas and seek solutions
        * discuss specific applications
        * influence the direction of products
        * position thier business to meet the information management challenges
        of the future
  and
        * participate in an information storage and retrieval association
  
  StorageTek proposes that the newsgroup be an electronic medium
  that will permit the Forum members to discuss these issues on a 
  near time basis.
  
  StorageTek propsoes that the newsgroup be unmoderated.  This will
  insure Forum members that use the newsgroup that StorageTek is not
  attempting to influence discussions.
