  For discussions of the Ethernet protocols, the IEEE 802.3 protocol,
  and implementations of either on any medium, including chipsets which
  implement Ethernet/IEEE 802.3.  Also discussions of applications of
  Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 networks.
  
  Commercial announcements are explicitly prohibited, although vendor
  participation in discussions is welcome (as per long standing USENET
  custom, commercial announcements should only be made to comp.newprod).
