The XFree86 window system and others.
For discussions about XFree86, the enhancement package for X11R5 on
Intel-based Unix, and for discussions of commercial implementations
of the X Window System from OS vendors and third parties. Areas for
discussion include:
1) Frequently Asked Questions - including archive location and
retrieval, configuration, and email addresses for developer
contacts. Vendor contact information will also be listed.
2) Announcements of new and upcoming releases, including calls
for beta-testers. Commercial vendors will be invited to
post product summaries, with cross-references to comp.newprod
or other sources of detailed information.
3) Discussions of new features to be developed in XFree86, including
support for new display devices, protocol extensions, etc.
4) General support from the developers of XFree86, and hopefully
from commercial vendors.
