Your point is well taken, Dale and no, I don't think you've overlooked the
obvious about AUTA. This is another one of those problems that is probably
more English than Greek, and maybe the NASB translators and others are
more concerned about the literal "them" than they (we) should be. On the
one hand, I doubt that anyone would confuse "them" with the preceding
"those". On the other hand is the way readers view "them" as connected with
"such things". I think Paul probably means for his description to be all
inclusive both of what he has described and anything else what might fit
in same category. While "them" could be construed as limited to the things
described, I think that in an odd way "the same" is less exclusive, like
saying "
the same kinds of things". But perhaps this is a construction that should
remain more literal in the translation.
