Ken, you say you've decided to try *a* real example and then you give us
five! That's not very nice. I'll be interested in what others have to say,
but basically, I would say that all of the examples refer more or less to a
past event. In reality, Paul may have preached, and his listeners have heard,
more than once, but in any case Paul is presenting it all as a simple event.
You can only read what the writer chooses to write (isn't *that* profound!).
