I made the point on the B-Hebrew list that it is important to know if
the word parthenos in 3rd-2nd century BCE Alexandrine koine had the
same connotations as in 1st-2nd century CE Palestinian and Eastern
Mediterranean Greek. Someone was kind enough to cite the pertinent
entry in Liddell Scott, but that is insufficient.

Anyone with a good Greek background care to comment?
