I recall hearing from popular "Charismatic" or "Word-Faith" preachers that
LOGOS is a general message from God (e.g., the "Word of God" - i.e., the Bible -
is LOGOS) but hRHMA is a specific word from the Lord to a person. Well, if I
recall correctly (I don't have a LXX with me), one day I was looking at
Jeremiah in the LXX, I believe, and noted that hRHMA was used in the general
sense and LOGOS was used whenever "the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah" -
i.e., exactly THE OPPOSITE of what these "teachers" were saying.
I never accepted this teaching anyway, so it wasn't hard for me to drop it
when I saw this. John's Gospel, I believe, generally uses LOGOS for "word" (or
message), but when the plural "words" is meant, hRHMA is used (hRHMATA).
