Kevin has already provided you with some info, but if you read
Spanish, you might want to take a look at _Historia de la Biblia en Espan~a_
by Jose' Flores, (Tarrasa [Barcelona]: Editorial CLIE, 1978). It gives a
fairly complete context to the Reina-Valera translation.
