Robertson mentions the use of the augment in Mt. 12:20 KATEAKSEI (fut. ind.
of KATAGNUMI) and John 19:31 (aor. pass. subj.). He also says that this kind
of "false augment" is very common in later Greek (Hatzidakis, Einleitung, p.
64).
I don't know enough to comment, but this could be interesting data.
