I am not even going to think of joining this thread (too busy!)--even
though it has metamorphosed off a query that I made re. time, but I must
say this: Porter explicitly classes EIMI as aspectually vague and thus not
a part of the aspect system; it is not legit. to appeal to Porter as
defending an imperfective aspect view of EIMI. See his ch. 10 in _Verbal
Aspect_.
