Jack, it would interest me very much to have you point out these "rife"
Aramaisms in the Greek NT. I am familiar with most of the standard books
which discuss Aramaisms in the NT, and also with E P Sanders's listing and
discussion of Semitisms and Aramaisms in pages 190 to 255 of his
"Tendencies of the Synoptic Tradition" (Cambridge, 1969).
I take it that what you are saying is that the "rife" Aramaisms in the NT
are strong evidence for an Aramaic source behind the Greek text that we now
have. This sounds a logical possibility to me, at least for some parts of
the Gospels. However, so far I have found the examples I have looked at
(both grammatical features of the kind that Sanders lists and specific
wordings in the Greek NT given by some others) to be quite unconvincing.
I am open to being persuaded by your examples. What have you found?
