Although I have not contributed at all to the discussion I have found it most
fascinating & informative about not only the isues related to the vs in
question but also about the methodology of exegesis. It seems to me that the
on-line comments have by and large exercised restraint and not veered into
purely theological arguments. For that reason my vote, for whatever it's
worth, would be that if the scholarly level can be maintained, it should
continue on-line rather than off. If the principals agree that the matter
has indeed been put to rest, that's OK. But if further scholarly exchanges
continue on the subject I'd like to here them in all their polite vehemence.
