Carl's survey of this list underscores the fact there there is a wide diversity of membership. Many of us are interested in Greek because we want to effectively communicate the substance of the New Testament to a contemporary audience (for whatever reason). To this end it is vitally important for us to discuss whether translations and understandings of the author's intent are properly grounded in the text. It is a matter of goals.
