One alternative is to consider using the Corel Flow v.2 software that
comes with the Corel WordPerfect 6 Academic CD [A real deal at $36]. It
is very easy to assign two dimensional "containers" for each part of
speech and Greek / Hebrew font and pt size for each, and then make them
available in a custom library palette for use with sentence diagramming.
Manipulating the components of your sentence diagram then becomes simply
a matter of moving the word objects in relation to one another on the
page. One simple mouse click does it. In addition, text and other
objects can be hyperlinked, so that you could attach notes or other
diagrams to an object in your sentence diagram. If you want to diagram
using lines instead of objects, that also works. You can click on and
rearrange words in relation to the lines much faster than in the typical
word processor. I don't know how it could get any easier than this in
the WIN3.1 environment. It's got to be easier than starting from scratch
in C++.
